Took my 7 year old grand daughter for her first trail ride. Peter and the girls were very professional and informative. Peter took his time with us to make sure she was comfortable with the horse. Once on the horse and after instructions she went on the trail ride. She was thrilled and the smile on her face was priceless. After the ride she fed and brushed the horse down, which she loved. Again everyone there was very attentive to her. Will be back next year, she can't wait. Would highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you Peter and your wonderful staff.

As an experienced riding instructor with extensive history with the Canadian Equestrian Federation, I was interested in the approach your stables would have with young children. Living in Ontario and wanting my grandchildren introduced to horses at a young age, it was a challenge to find a safe, fun place for their first experience. I am adamant about safety first, and then making the first rides fun and interesting. Your staff were amazing with my 3-year old granddaughter. The lesson was fun and informative. Age appropriate questions were asked ("What is the name of your horse?") and proper balancing games and techniques were used. Safe riding practices were utilized but in a very non-frightening manner. The experience was everything I hoped for. Much praise for your stables and the staff.

My husband and I booked the 2 hour ride for our vacation. Overall was a great enjoyable experience. Peter took the time to make sure we got comfortable with the horses and the horses got comfortable with us. We did training getting on and off the horse, stop and go procedures. We went up the mountain and had an amazing view where Peter kindly offered to take photos of us. Peter is very knowledgeable and in tune, we also enjoyed his sense of humor. They were all very nice and pleasant. Thank you for a great time.

Peter took his time to explain western style and to have us practice it. That was fun, and also quite different from what we are used too. We then went for the trail we had booked with great riding, lots of climbing for the horse and a fabulous view. Thanks Peter and team!

My family and I had an AMAZING experience at the Okanagan Stables. Peter, Vanessa, and Alex were so accommodating, kind, fun to be around, and patient with us. We originally made an appointment to ride at 3PM on a Thursday, but unfortunately when we got there it started POURING rain. Peter was kind enough to let us reschedule for the next day at the same time and even offered to give us a full refund if we were rained out again and couldn’t make time to come back another day. On the trail, one of us lost our phone and Peter and Alex helped us loop around on the trail again to search for it (luckily we found it!). Peter and his staff also went above and beyond in teaching us and making sure we were comfortable riding the horses on our own. They gave a full rundown of everything from beginning to end, made us do a couple of practice laps and gave us tips on how to improve. I was struggling in the beginning, so they had a trainer, Alex, come on the trail with me to lead my horse by a rope. Towards the end of the trail, Alex let me ride on my own and I felt so much more confident! The trail they took us on was also incredibly beautiful!! It was the most beautiful trail we had ever ridden on. They were kind enough to take lots of pictures for us as well. Peter and his staff were SO patient with us and made this experience so much fun. We would absolutely recommend picking the Okanagan Stables if you want a great riding experience in the Kelowna area.

I phoned in advance and spoke to Peter about what I was looking for and knew that he would be the best person to trust in putting my 3 year old on his horses. (They provided her and me with a staff member to lead the horse, while letting her feel like she was in control the whole time. The comments about Peter being stern and a perfectionist are entirely true, and that is why I brought my child here to ride. The staff were very hands-on and informative with every step of the ride. This was not only a " pony ride" for kids but a riding lesson before we began. They took the time to see that everyone was comfortable on the horses before we ventured up the mountain paths. It was a very relaxed environment and we were all comfortable. The views from the property was beautiful as we weaved through the mountain side.
