Okanagan Stables has been serving the Okanagan Valley in a variety of locations since 1987. Originally established on the Lake Okanagan Resort property, the stables were moved in 2011 when the resort sold to new owners who had plans to redevelop the property.
Okanagan Stables found a new more permanent seasonal home in a field of a centrally located property in Oyama in 2018, from which we are still offering lovely trail rides with majestic views.
Sharon and John have been riding horses since they were kids. They started working with Okanagan stables in 1988 and spent several years learning the ropes from Peter. Their daughter started riding a donkey named Jack when she was three and became a pretty good little pony rider by the time she was five. Their second child wound up being allergic to horses and while it was tempting to give him up for adoption (joking), the family decided to leave ranch life for a while.
Okanagan Stables continues with the tradition of having volunteers from all over the world come and help on the ranch and learn about horses, or even ending up teaching us better skills.
We hope that you will visit us for a wonderful horeseback riding experience and we look forward to riding with you.
